ECHO Student Ministries

ECHO is the name of our ministry for all 6th through 12th graders.

If you look up ECHO in the dictionary, you will find that it means:
1: the repetition of a sound caused by reflection of sound waves
2: a repetition or imitation of another
3: one who closely imitates or repeats another’s words, ideas, or acts

Those last two definitions are what we focus on. We believe that 2,000 years ago an unexpected revolutionary voice rang out and changed the world. That voice echoes through the halls of history every time someone dares to live in the way of Jesus.

Our programs include interactive high energy worship gatherings, retreats, discipleship events, and service projects and trips, plus fun stuff like theme park trips, parties, and laser tag. Check out the events section of the website for up-to-date details on our activities.

ECHO 6-8 (6th-8th Grade)

Middle School is one of the most exciting and challenging seasons of life. Because of this – we have designed a ministry completely around the challenges our students face.

Every Sunday 10:30 AM
Our Middle School Service is could be described as an interactive multimedia storytelling worship experience mixed with crazy games and stunts, complete with a live worship band.

Because we think that we learn best through relationships, every Middle School service will start with a small group time where we interact with and get to know each other in a smaller context.

ECHO 9-12 (9th-12th Grade)

Our High School Ministry is a great place to connect with friends and with God in a relaxed atmosphere. Expect fun, worship with a live band, and a compelling message from someone really, really good looking (okay, so maybe not that good looking, but the message will still be compelling).

We have converted a space just for high schoolers that we call “The Hangar,” with a pool table, games, and couches. Every Sunday night at 7pm, we meet at our church office, at 4200 Lafayette Center Dr., Suite T in Chantilly.

Small Groups
Every other Sunday night, we offer “Small Groups” for our high schoolers that are led by our youth leaders. We use this time to talk about what it means to “live the ECHO.” They meet right in the Hangar and follow a shortened ECHO service.

Fun Stuff!

Occasionally, we just want to get together to have some fun. Watch the website for announcements about times and places where we will get together for laser tag, bowling, a party, mini-golf, paintball, camping, or whatever.

Retreats, Missions Trips, Service Projects, and More!

These are the big events that we offer spread throughout the year.

Our Retreats are INCREDIBLE weekends packed full of fun experiences and encounters with God. Both our Spring Fling and Fall Retreat are the two most important events of the year for ECHO.

We also participate in Missions Trips and Service Projects, which are great ways to stretch beyond yourself and serve your world. You can ask for details on all this stuff, and you will definitely hear about our big events if you are around.

ECHO Parents Blog

Check out Justin’s blog just for Echo Parents. This is designed to connect parents to what their teens are doing in youth ministry and to provide parents with resources in interpreting and redeeming youth culture. Check it out here: http://echoparents.wordpress.com/
