STOCK Program
We may live in the wealthiest county in the U.S., but that doesn’t mean that our own neighbors aren’t suffering. Last Summer we learned some sobering statistics about our community:
• Over 70 families in the Little River school district changed their address due to foreclosures
• Mercer Middle School currently has 104 families that are in dire need
• We are the wealthiest county in the country but 4.5% of our children live in poverty
• 10.75% of our children in Loudoun County qualify AND receive free lunch
So we created the STOCK Closet at the Hangar to keep fully STOCKed with everyday items should someone in the community need our help. We are always accepting:
• Non-perishable food items (ie. canned vegetables, canned meat, condiments, boxed meals, etc.)
• Toiletries and Household Items (i.e. paper products, shampoo, toothpaste, diapers, etc..)
• Grocery Store Gift Cards
