Retreat as a Family! September 30 - October 1

The DCC Family Camp will be 9/30 - 10/1 this fall. Mark your calendars and get ready to camp with your DCC family! Unplug, relax, and recenter together with your kids.

  1. The Venue - We will be staying at River Valley Ranch, but in a different part of the camp than our teens normally use for their retreats.  We will be camping together in their "Arrowhead Woods" area.  This area is rustic and private, with beautiful views and peaceful surroundings.  There are a limited number of Tee Pees that include a cement floor, electricity, ceiling fans, and 4 bunk beds (8 beds in each).  The first 6 families to request these will claim them.  The rest of the families will need to provide their own tent.  There are very nice bathroom facilities, dining facilities, fire pits, grills, etc. that are available to everyone.  It is camping, but not quite "roughing it."  Plan on bringing sleeping bags, pillows, towels, and whatever your family needs to sleep comfortably.

  2. The Food - To keep our cost down (and because we are camping) we are going to be creative with the food.  We will provide the backbone of each meal along with plates and utensils, but we need your family to help fill in the rest potluck style.  Bring side items, snacks, drinks, etc.  There is plenty of space for your coolers and we will have access to an ice machine to keep things cold.  Dinner on Saturday we will provide hot dogs and hamburgers on the grill.  For Sunday breakfast, we will provide muffins and fruit.  For Sunday lunch, we will provide tacos.

  3. The Program - We will have some planned activities, including family worship sessions and workshops for parents and kids.  Some of the time will be unstructured so you can play and retreat with your family and friends.  There is much to do at River Valley Ranch, including fun for everyone.

Plan on arriving at the ranch anytime on Saturday after 11am (Lunch on Saturday is on your own, but you could pack food to picnic or even cookout at the Ranch).  We will kick off the program with an orientation at 1pm, so don't be late for that!
